Sapphire Life Church is a group of ordinary people on an extraordinary journey with Jesus.
At Sapphire Life we love introducing people to Jesus Christ.
We meet weekly for a family friendly service that leaves us empowered, encouraged and enthusiastic about what God is doing in our lives, in the lives of our church, and in the life of our community.
Wherever you are on your journey with Jesus, we have a place in our church for you.
If you are looking for the next step in your journey with Jesus, please consider joining us at Sapphire Life.
What to Expect on Sunday
ALL SERVICES ARE NOW LIVE ONLINE @ 4PM
While we are now able meet together, our services continue to be live online!
Our online platform is very easy to use. Sit back and observe. And as much as you like, step in and engage with the Sapphire Life family with ease.
(We meet at Club Sapphire Merimbula 5 pm (summer) and 4pm (winter) on Sundays in a safe and family-friendly space with a great kids’ program.)
We believe that lives are transformed when people meet Jesus. Our Sunday gatherings are the overflow of this transformation as we gather together to give to God.
We worship Him, we give Him our devotion to His Word, and we share His love with others.
Here at Sapphire Life we are light on our feet so we like to bring creative expressions of our faith and love for God through music, song, personal stories, video, art and dance. Our church gathering is kid friendly, youth friendly, and tourist friendly!
We hope and pray that every person who gathers on Sunday has a transformation through their encounter with God. See you Sunday.
Our People
SENIOR PASTORS – JEREMY AND JANITA FERNANDO
Jeremy and Janita are a dynamic duo who love Jesus and love people. Together with their five daughters, they engage in the life of the Sapphire Coast with enthusiasm and passion. Jeremy is an engaging speaker who’s messages reflect a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and daily devotion to the Bible. He is compelled by the mission to see a Jesus Majority on the Sapphire Coast. Jeremy is the chaplain for the NSW Ambulance service for Bombala, Bega, Merimbula and Eden, and the Merimbula Club Sapphire. Although being more of a golfer than a horseman, he is also the padre for the Seventh Light Horse Bemboka Troop! Janita is a prominent community figure who runs her own dance school (Bournda Dance) and is an avid social justice advocate. They are an approachable and generous couple who believe that God has planted them on the Sapphire Coast to pastor Sapphire Life Church.
Why Kids Love Sapphire Life
Kids love being at Sapphire Life on Sunday because of our Gemstones program. Gemstones is for 3 – 12-year-olds and includes fun activities, age appropriate games and craft, stories, quizzes and music.
Children are registered for Gemstones before the service – arrive 4:45 pm (summer) and 3:45 (winter) and see one of our friendly volunteers at the Gemstones booth – and then participate with the whole church in music/worship time in their very own worship section.
We all enjoy a kids’ talk immediately after the worship time. After this, the children go to the Gemstones program in a separate room supervised by enthusiastic and friendly “Working With Children” checked volunteers.
After the service finishes, kids are collected by their parents/carers from the room next door to the Sapphire Room.
Afterwards, everyone is welcome to join us for an affordable dinner downstairs.
Child minding is provided by Club Sapphire from 5:30 pm for those who may want to use this service.
What We Believe
This is a summary of what we believe, the convictions that drive us, and the principles that guide our direction:
We believe that the Bible is God’s Word. It is accurate, authoritative and applicable to our everyday lives.
We believe in one eternal God who is the Creator of all things. He exists in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. He is totally loving and completely holy.
We believe that sin has separated each of us from God and His purpose for our lives.
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ as both God and man is the only One who can reconcile us to God. He lived a sinless and exemplary life, died on the cross in our place, and rose again to prove His victory and empower us for life.
We believe that in order to receive forgiveness and the ‘new birth’ we must repent of our sins, believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and submit to His will for our lives.
We believe that in order to live the holy and fruitful lives that God intends for us, we need to be baptised in water and be filled with the power of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit enables us to use spiritual gifts, including speaking in tongues.
We believe that God has individually equipped us so that we can successfully achieve His purpose for our lives which is to worship God, fulfil our role in the Church and serve the community in which we live.
We believe that God wants to heal and transform us so that we can live healthy and prosperous lives in order to help others more effectively.
We believe that our eternal destination of either Heaven or hell is determined by our response to the Lord Jesus Christ.
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is coming back again as He promised.
